YWAM Jacksonville is situated on the west side of the St. John's River, in the historic neighborhood of Avondale. Our facilities include several class rooms, a game room and prayer room, all situated on the beautiful property of Grace Church of Avondale. The offices and classrooms are a shady-mile away from student and staff housing.
The Surroundings: YWAM Jacksonville sits in the middle of the beautiful neighborhood of Avondale. Restaurants, shopping centers, parks, and the St. Johns River are a scenic walk away. Downtown Jacksonville and the beaches are in driving distance and offer many opportunities for fun and relaxation, as well as ministry. There is also an array of nature preserves and state parks for hiking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
Family: The base offers a family-friendly atmosphere. Childcare is provided at the base and there are nearby schools, parks and churches, as well as a zoo.
Travel: If you want to see the world and experience different cultures, YWAM Jacksonville offers many opportunities to travel, through our schools and short-term outreaches. From the ancient jungles of Borneo and the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean, to the white peaks of the Himalayans and the sands of the Sahara, come with us to bless the nations that the Lord has made and loves so dearly.
Ministry: There are many different ministry opportunities available through our schools and summer outreaches. Teaching English, providing disaster relief, medical outreaches, trekking, and urban ministries are a few of the ways that YWAM Jacksonville has been able to show the love of Jesus to the nations of the 10/40 Window. The preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ is our goal and we want to bless the nations with the good news of salvation while meeting their physical needs as well.
